John F. Lloyd, MBA is the former Commissioner, of the Office of African Affairs, Government of the District of Columbia. A recognized leader among Liberians in the Diaspora, Lloyd also served as Chairman of Governance & Reform on the Liberian Diaspora Advisory Board, Embassy of Liberia Washington DC.

 

 He holds an accomplished record of leadership within the Liberian and African Diaspora. Mr. Lloyd is a former President of the Liberian Community Association in Washington DC, former Chairman, of the National Leadership Council, of the Union of Liberian Associations in the Americas (ULAA), and former Chairman of the African Leadership Council in Washington DC.

 

He is a leading voice on major issues affecting Liberia, ranging from the Liberian peace process to reconstruction and immigration protection including dual citizenship for Liberians in the Diaspora. In his many lobbying efforts he has forged major partnership with leading members of the U.S. Congress and has served as guest analyst on African issues for major international media including the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC); CNN News; and a number of local and national radio stations in the United States.

 

 With an MBA in Management, and a BA in Communications, he is the author of several articles on various issues, and a recipient of several awards including citations from the City of Baltimore and Washington DC.
