DGHCS SPREADS CHRISTMAS JOY IN LIBERIA

In December 2024, Delivering Good Health Community Service (DGHCS) carried the true spirit of Christmas to those in need.

In December 2024, Delivering Good Health Community Service (DGHCS) carried the true spirit of Christmas to those in need, spreading love, hope, and joy across Margibi, Bong, and Montserrado counties. Through thoughtful donations and meaningful interactions, DGHCS sought to brighten lives and inspire hope during the festive season.

In Margibi County, the DGHCS team visited two orphanages—Peter Sayklon Orphanage and Children Future Orphanage—together housing 258 children. The team brought food and non-food items, ensuring that every child felt the warmth and love of the season. Additionally, cash envelopes were distributed to individuals with disabilities and special needs in Bong and Montserrado counties, enabling them to experience a joyous Christmas.

Among the beneficiaries of the cash donation were John Mulbah and Patience Kollie, a disabled couple living in Gbarnga, Bong County, who face significant challenges in their daily lives due to their disabilities. John, who is visually impaired, supports his family by digging and selling sand from a river, while Patience, paralyzed since a complicated childbirth, struggles to manage their household.

“Life is not easy for us,” John shared. “Things often become more difficult when the sand I dig from the river is not bought on time by customers, leaving us unable to buy food.” Despite these hardships, the couple expressed immense gratitude and joy upon receiving their cash donation from the DGHCS team.

Reflecting on the outreach, Executive Director Nallie Brumskine emphasized the importance of supporting the vulnerable: "Christmas is a time for giving, a time to share love and extend our hands to those who need it the most. These children and individuals are a vital part of our society, and their happiness matters. By addressing their basic needs and offering kindness, we not only spread joy but also inspire hope for a brighter future. This mission reminds us of our collective responsibility to serve and uplift one another.”

The joy and gratitude shared by the beneficiaries were immeasurable. Speaking on behalf of Peter Sayklon Orphanage, Martha Sayklon expressed heartfelt appreciation:

"We are truly overwhelmed by the support and love shown to us. Your generosity has brought smiles to the faces of these children, and we are so grateful. The food and items you provided mean so much to us, and it reminds us that we are not forgotten."

The festive season serves as a reminder of the greatest gift of all—Jesus Christ. As we celebrate His birth, we are called to reflect His love by reaching out to those in need. Through this initiative, Delivering Good Health Community Service reaffirmed its commitment to empowering vulnerable individuals and fostering unity in the community.
